Excited for your first encounter with the IDF? It’s important to us, and to you of course, that everything will go as smoothly and quickly as possible. On the day of your conscription at the recruitment bureau (לשכת גיוס), you will pass through and complete four different stations. Here is everything you need to know!

On the day of your 'Tzav Rishon', whose date and location will be sent to you in advance, you will go to the reception desk and present your valid I.D. Then, you will receive a sticker with a barcode which you will scan at each station that you complete. The order in which you complete the stations will not have any effect and is dependant solely on availability.

  1. Data Verification

At this station you will be met by a psycho-technical assessor whose job is to record your personal information such as education, family status, address, phone number, and more. After a short conversation with the assessor you will take a Hebrew placement test.
  2. Personal Interview

The personal interview is intended to help the army understand as much as it can about you. The interview checks your level of compatibility for army service in general and in particular combat service. During the interview you will be asked a variety of questions about different things in your life. It’s vital to state that the interview is not a test! There are no correct or incorrect answers and therefore it is important to be truthful and sincere.
  3. Psycho-technical Tests

At this station you will complete a series of tests which will determine your 'Dapar' and 'Kaba' (דפ״ר וקב״א). These scores in the future will effect your different job options. Don’t be concerned, before you enter the test you will be prepared and given complete instructions on how the test works. New immigrants are able to take the test in the following languages: English, Russian, French, Spanish, Amharic, or Arabic.

A little bit about the tests themselves - the tests are completed on a computer and are designed to test verbal and analytic intelligence. The tests will evaluate your comprehension, knowledge, analysis, and reasoning. The tests are only allowed to be taken once and therefore it is encouraged to come alert and prepared in order to use your maximum strength to succeed.
  4. Medical Examinations

At this station a medical examination will be performed. The examination is to determine your medical profile score. Your height, weight, eyesight, urine and more will be checked. For your convenience, you can complete the urine test at your health maintenance organization (קופת חולים) and send us the results through our website. Just make sure that the test is valid through the date of your 'Tzav Rishon'. After the examination your medical profile will be decided.

After all the different stations you will go back to the reception desk where you started to make sure you fully completed everything.

GOOD LUCK!
