Garin Tzabar is the best support system for IDF lone soldiers. the program founded in 1991 and supported over 5,500 young Jewish adults who wished to make Israel their home and serve a meaningful service in the IDF as Lone Soldiers. Garin Tzabar is the only program that provides a 360° support system for its participants before moving to Israel, during and after their army service including accommodation on a full board basis throughout the whole service, physical and mental preparation to the army, Hebrew studies, assistance with Israel civil services and IDF bureaucracy, integration to Israeli society, building a family within a host community in Israel (kibbutz/Ra’anana) and crafting a new Garin family - A Family For Life”.

Why Garin Tzabar?

'Garin Tzabar' is a one-of-a-kind program, in the sense that it is the only program that gives you a group support and framework along the whole process. From deciding whether you want to enlist or not, joining the IDF, until your release from the army, you will be going through the whole process with a group of like-minded people and coordinators who will help you step by step.

Who can Join 'Garin Tzabar'?

- Girls: ages 18-23 (at your day of enlistment)
- Boys: ages 18-24 (at your day of enlistment)
- High school graduate
- Commitment to participate in the program as defined in the admissions packet.
- Certificate of good conduct (proof of no prior criminal record)
- Prior visits to Israel, or life in Israel for an accumulated time of two months or more
- Not obligated to serve in the IDF, according to the law by the Ministry of Defense.
- Participation in the preparation seminars
- Must be eligible for Aliyah.
- Would be considered a “Lone Soldier” (parents do not currently live in Israel
- Hebrew Level – While a good level of Hebrew is essential for successful integration and meaningful army service, it is not a requirement in order to get accepted to 'Garin Tzabar' preparation process.

However, we strongly advise you to start practicing Hebrew before your arrival in Israel.
