Preparing for the First Order? 7 tips that will help you In order for you to pass the First Order in a way that best reflects your abilities without unnecessary interruptions or delays - We have put together 7 tips that will help you have the best entry into the military world.

Welcome to the first stage of the recruitment process into the IDF. This is a very important stage because it determines your personal data according to which you will receive summons to various positions and will affect your possibility to advance in the future to officer and commander positions.

 1) The First Order begins at home

  • Before you imagine yourself walking to the recruiting office, get to the computer at home. Enter the personal area of the website and fill out the data verification questionnaire. This is in order to verify your personal data even before arriving at the recruiting office.
  • Another questionnaire that you will have to fill out is the medical questionnaire. In which you will be asked about your medical condition with “yes/no” questions and you will be required to add any relevant medical documents to fill out the questionnaire.
  • If you do not fill out the medical questionnaire you will not be able to enter the recruitment office and carry out the First Order.

 2) A good and long sleep

  • The First Order is an important day in which you must be sharp and focused. Therefore, we recommend clearing the evening before and prioritizing at least 7 hours of sleep.

3) Be yourself

  • Don’t try to be something you’re not. Do not hide information or give information that is not true. Do not try to fit yourself into the “types” you assume we are looking for. Remember that if you do this, you may be placed in a position that does not suit you and your personality at all.

4) Plan ahead

  • In order to be focused and to prevent unnecessary pressures make sure you do what you can do in advance. Plan your travel route to the recruitment bureau before, organize a bag with necessities for the day the night before. Do you have questions? Don’t leave it to the last minute, contact us through the messenger.

 5) Stock up on food and drink

  • You should arrive in advance with water and food that will help you concentrate or relax.

 6) There is no second chance for a first impression

  • Remember that the First Order is one-time, so you should carry out this process in the best way you can. If you are unable to arrive on the date set for you or you do not feel good that day make sure to inform the service center of Meitav in advance by calling 1111 (or for English reach out by mail joinidf@digital.idf.il)

 7) Lower your pulse

  • Let's lower the stress level. It’s true, it’s an important day, but remember that like you there are thousands of other people who have successfully passed it. Try to arrive calm. Listen to music that makes you feel good, or talk to someone who knows how to calm you down. Remember that you’re not being tested on material you’ve learned, we just want to get to know you.

Good luck!
